They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To...

There is nothing like strolling up the streets of New York City and admiring the old buildings and imagining how much hard work builders put in to create all those amazing details. Seeing the contrast of these architectural gems set in middle of huge glass sky rises is what makes this city so unique.

These old pre-war apartment buildings come with great bones, and it’s a shame some people thinking gutting it and making completely new and modern is the way to go…I certainly don’t think so! Using some of these classic original elements is what can make an apartment one of a kind and special.

Old brick walls and original beam and columns are some original features that just give a place real character. Mix them with some modern furniture and art and it will turn what had been a dated warehouse into a cool place to live and entertain!

Details like original trim work and wood flooring can make an apartment’s  style go in different directions; either super traditional that will give the space a classic look, or by going eclectic route, mixing the old details and new pieces together.

Keeping the these authentic features not only helps preserve New York’s grand history but can also gives owners a classic space. Or by mixing old and new, resident’s can give themselves an edgy style, reminiscent of the architecture outside of their window.
